Post 5: Digital Rights and Responsibilities

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a milestone document in the history of human rights. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948 General Assembly resolution 217(III) A as a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations. It sets out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected.

Study the bill of rights and draw up a Digital Bill of Rights that has 10 articles. Create a blog entry titled Digital Bill of Rights.

Digital Bill of Rights

1. Freedom: digital citizens have the right to free internet.

2. Openness: digital citizens have the right to an acceptable, unobstructed internet.

3. Sharing: digital citizens have the right to freely share their ideas, discoveries and opinions on the internet.

4. Accessibility: digital citizens have the right to access the internet equally, regardless of who they are and where they are.

5. Privacy: digital citizens have a right to privacy on the internet.

6.Property: digital citizens have the right to benefit from what they create and be secure in their intellectual property on the internet.
